A Truly Cerebral Campaign

There is no single way to live with Cerebral Palsy — and there should be no single way to represent it.

On World Cerebral Palsy Day 2026, Cerebral Palsy Europe joins A Truly Cerebral Campaign, an international initiative led by FightTheStroke Foundation and created with DUDE Milano.

The campaign challenges narrow and stereotypical representations of Cerebral Palsy and reflects the diversity of people’s lives, experiences and ways of participating. At its heart is a simple idea: Cerebral Palsy is part of a person’s story, but it is not their whole story. There is no single profile, body, voice or experience that can represent everyone living with Cerebral Palsy.

The campaign film follows a fictional creative team trying to identify the “right person” to represent Cerebral Palsy. The more people they meet, the clearer it becomes that no single definition or image can capture the diversity of lived experience.

This idea continues through the Your Truly Cerebral Casting, which invites people with Cerebral Palsy from around the world to introduce themselves, share what they do, what they enjoy and how they live their everyday lives. These contributions will form an international casting archive designed to support more diverse representation in film, advertising and other creative industries.

The campaign brings together organisations working across different countries and contexts, including the International Cerebral Palsy Society, Cerebra.lu, APPC, Gillette Children’s, United Cerebral Palsy, Fondation Paralysie Cérébrale, CP Nederland, Cerebral Palsy Foundation, Cerebral Palsy Alliance and Cerebral Palsy Europe.

For Cerebral Palsy Europe, this collaboration reflects the importance of connecting organisations and people across borders, with the voices and experiences of people with Cerebral Palsy at the centre of representation.
